Compte rendu du contest IARU VHF des 2 et 3 septembre 2017. J’ai été actif durant 20 heures sur les 24 que compte le contest (le break de 4 heures, c’était pour dormir). Propagation assez moyenne, pas de réelle ouverture dans un quelconque azimut, sauf peut-être vers l’Italie (4 stations assez faciles à contacter et avec de bons signaux). 17 QSO’s à plus de 800 km et 21 en CW. Activité toujours un peu plus faible d’année en année, du moins vu d’ici car les scores de DR9A et DA0FF (> 1000 QSO’s) sont impressionnants ! Ou alors, c’est dû aux antennes 2×9 él. utilisées ici pour la première fois durant un contest IARU ; le lobe de rayonnement dans le plan horizontal est plus étroit que ma 12 él. précédente, ce qui n’est pas un avantage en contest. Autrement, le score réalisé est mon nouveau record en termes de points et de carrés locators contactés ! Mais c’est aussi la première fois que j’utilise 1kW durant un tel contest. Merci à tous ceux qui m’ont appelé, chaque QSO compte.

Activity report of the IARU VHF contest of September 2nd and 3rd, 2017. I have been active during 20 hours amongst the 24 the contest lasts (the 4 hours break was to sleep). Average propagation conditions, no real opening in any azimuth but perhaps to Italy (4 stations easy to work and with good signals). 17 QSO’s above 800 km and 21 in CW. Activity always lower from year to year, at least seen from here because the scores of DR9A and DA0FF are quite impressive ! Or this is due to the 2×9 el. antennas used here for the first time ever in an IARU contest ; the horizontal radiation pattern is narrower than my former 12 el., which is not a benefit in contest. Otherwize, the score achieved both in terms of points and worked locator squares is my new personnal record ! It is also the first time I’m using 1kW during such a contest. Thanks to everyone who called me, every QSO counts.

Compte rendu du contest subregional VHF des 1er et 2 juillet 2017. J’ai été actif durant 11 heures sur les 24 que compte le contest. Assez bonne propagation et bonne activité tous azimuts (sauf peut-être vers le sud). 14 QSO’s à plus de 800 km et 3 à plus de 1000 km. Plus de 20 stations OK contactées, il y a longtemps que ça n’était plus arrivé. 27 QSO’s en CW, il y a longtemps également. Un contest très plaisant malgré une participation relativement courte !

Activity report of the subregional VHF contest of July 1st and 2nd, 2017. I have been active during 11 hours amongst the 24 the contest lasts. Fairly good propagation and good activity all around (except perhaps to the South). 14 QSO’s further than 800 km and 3 further than 1000 km. More than 20 OK stations worked, it is long ago since it last happened. 27 QSO’s in CW, long ago as well. A very pleasant contest despite a somehow short participation !

Compte rendu du contest subregional VHF des 6 et 7 mai 2017. J’ai été actif durant 14 heures sur les 24 que compte le contest. Propagation assez standard, pas de réelle ouverture constatée. En terme de réponse à mes appels, disposer de près de 3 dB en plus par rapport à l’an dernier (1kW contre 600W) se fait fortement ressentir, d’autant plus que l’angle d’ouverture horizontal des nouvelles antennes (2×9 él.) est également plus étroit que celui de la 12 él. utilisée jusqu’en 2016. Le meilleur DX contacté fût EA2TO en IN83FD. OM3W (1028 km) a été entendu et OM3KII m’a entendu mais le QSO n’a pu être réalisé avec ces stations.

Activity report of the subregional VHF contest of May 6th and 7th, 2017. I have been active during 14 hours amongst the 24 the contest lasts. Very standard propagation, no real opening noticed. Regarding the answer rate to my calls, a power increase of almost 3 dB compared to last year (1kW vs 600W) is quite noticeable, even more the horizontal opening angle of the new antennas (2×9 el.) is also narrower than the one of the former 12 el. in use up to 2016. The best DX worked was EA2TO in IN83FD. OM3W (1028 km) has been heard and OM3KII heard me but no QSO has been made with these stations.
